SMB
2%+ point program
Since October 1, 2019, Amazon Japan has participated as a payment provider in the “Project to Support Point Rewards Using Cashless Means by SMBs” led by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Under this project, we provided 5% rewards for products from many SMBs selling on Amazon Japan, an initiative that was well received by buyers. With the conclusion of this program on June 30, 2020, and in view of the recent economic situation, Amazon would like to play its part to offer at least some support to SMBs. As a result, we have created the 2%+ point program as a successor to the previous program. Sellers will bear the cost of 2% or more in points, but by providing the same customer experience as the previous program, we hope to help improve customer satisfaction and invigorate SMBs.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do I need to add points on the seller side?
Yes, you will add 2% to all items yourself. No products are excluded from the program. Normally, points are awarded to the buyer by the seller at the time of the order regardless of the payment method. We can also do this task on behalf of sellers who request it. Requests can be made from the link below.

How do I register for and cancel participation in the program?
To enroll in the program, please indicate your willingness to participate using the application form and earn add 2% or more points to all products, and you will receive a badge within 10 business days from July 31.
To cancel, submit a cancellation request through the cancellation form, and the badge will disappear. Plans call for the program to run until December 31, 2020, but the start and end dates are subject to change depending on the situation.

Is the cost of points borne by the seller or Amazon?
Sellers bear the cost of the points they award.
Is this program open only to participants in the Point Reward Project for Consumers using Cashless Payment?
Yes. At this time, given that this is an Amazon-exclusive successor program to the “Project to Support Point Rewards Using Cashless Means by SMBs,” which was run by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry from October 1, 2019, we are only inviting participants in the Point Reward Project for Consumers using Cashless Payment. Currently, new sellers who count as SMBs as defined by the previous initiative can also participate.
What are the benefits of adding 2% in points?
By adding points to your products, you can provide added value to buyers and expect to increase your conversion rate. We plan to increase exposure on Amazon.co.jp for “2% points” products in the future, so adding points can be expected to increase views as well.
What happens to the badge if some items do not have points added?
If the points are missing from some products, the badge may be removed.
I have awarded 2% or more in points for all items, but the badge has not appeared.
The badge will appear on items that have won the buy box. Please note that badges will not be posted for items that cannot win the buy box, such as used items, even if you award more than 2% in points.
