Before you start
Prepare identity verification documents
Before you start registering for a seller account, make sure you have the following:
- An email address not used on Amazon, or an email address identical to the one for Amazon Brand Registry1
- Government-issued ID with facial photo (e.g. passport, driver's license, etc.) 2
- A transaction statement issued within the past 180 days (e.g. credit card statements, bankbooks, etc.)
- Phone number
- Chargeable credit card
- Bank account information (where Amazon can send you proceeds from your sales)

Five steps to sign up
Step 1: Enter business information
The information you initially provide during registration helps us understand your business better.
- Business location: Select the country where your business is registered. If you're doing business as an individual or if your business isn't incorporated, select the country where you do business.
- Type of business: Choose the option that best suits your business, such as public, private, or charitable. If you are doing business as an individual or if it’s an unincorporated business, select “Individual.”
- Company name: Enter the exact name you used when registering your business with the relevant government agency.
- Business number: Enter the number that was issued when you registered your business.
- Registered business address: Enter your registered business address.
- Phone number: Enter a phone number including the country code.

What should I do if I only want to sell in Japan on Amazon?
If you change the marketplace where you sell to Japan only, you'll need to log in to an account in each region outside of Japan and cancel the contract separately.

Your Amazon store name must be unique and doesn't have to match your business name. If another seller is using the name you were thinking of using, please register with a different name.
