The cost to sell in Amazon stores depends on which selling plan you choose, which category of products you sell, and how you plan to fulfill orders. The options are flexible, so you can find the combo that works best for you and your goals.

Selling plans
The Individual plan costs 100 yen per unit sold, and the Professional plan costs 4,900 yen per month no matter how many units you sell.
Referral fees
Amazon charges a referral fee for each product sold. The amount of the referral fee depends on the product category, but most referral fees are between 5% and 15%.
Fulfillment fees
The cost to ship your orders depends on whether you fulfill your own orders or use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA).
Other costs
Some sellers may incur additional fees (such as long-term storage fees). There are also optional programs like advertising or premium account services.

Getting paid and paying fees
When you set up a seller account, you’ll provide credit card and bank account information. Amazon will charge the credit card to cover your fees, and proceeds from any sales will be dispersed into your bank account every two weeks.

Referral fees
For every item sold, sellers pay Amazon a percentage of the total price, or a minimum amount, whichever is greater. For all products, the greater of the applicable referral fee rate or minimum referral fee per item, calculated based on total sales (the total amount paid by the customer, including the product price, shipping, and gift wrap charges), will be deducted. Referral fees are in addition to selling plan fees.

For inventory that exceeds 365 days in fulfillment centers, additional long-term storage fees will be charged. The FBA storage fees listed above show up to 2 or 3 decimal places and are highly accurate. For example, “5.160" is about ¥5, not ¥5000.
Additional FBA options exist for non-standard items, like small and light products and dangerous goods.
When a seller delivers an ordered product, Amazon first charges a shipping fee based on the product category and shipping service selected by the customer. Once the order is confirmed and the seller completes the shipment, Amazon pays the seller a shipping credit equal to the shipping fee.
Professional selling plan sellers can set their own shipping rates. However, books, music, video and DVD products are excluded. For more information, see the pricing table below. When a customer purchases a product, Amazon first charges a shipping fee based on the product category and shipping service selected by the customer. Once the order is confirmed and the seller completes the shipment, Amazon will pay the seller a shipping fee equal to the shipping fee. Referral fees are calculated from the total sales price. The selling price includes item price, shipping, and any gift wrap charges.
Sellers with the Individual plan use Amazon’s set shipping rates for all products. Individual sellers have to ship orders at the set rates even if the shipping credit is less than total shipping costs. So it’s important to price items in a way that makes sure you'll earn a profit.

Additional selling fees
High-volume listing fees
When you have a high volume of active, non-media listings that have not sold in 12 months, we charge a monthly fee of 0.05 yen per eligible listing to cover cataloging costs. We waive this fee for the first 2 million listings.
Refund administration fee
If you refund a customer order for which you have already received payment, Amazon will refund you the amount of the referral fee you paid for the items. Either 500 yen or 10% of the referral fee - whichever amount is smaller - will be charged as a refund processing fee and deducted from the referral fee.
Optional programs
Fulfillment by Amazon program
Amazon takes care of your shipping, returns, and customer service. You can expand your business by using special FBA programs such as the FBA Small and Light Goods Program, FBA Regular Savings Program, FBA Dangerous Goods Program, Multi-Channel Services, and FBA International Shipping. You will only be charged for the services you use.
